We had no idea how many would turn up. We didn't really even know what a tea dance was! Our drummer hadn't played in ten years, but we put the word out...and people showed up. The band were very smart in their best suits and bow ties, and after half an hour or so of music on CD, they launched into old favourites like 'Moon River', 'Rock around the clock,' and 'Lambeth Walk'. Old friendships were strengthened and new friends made.

Several of our guests had been regulars at other tea dances in the area. 'Did we get it right?' asked Shirley our church secretary (and lead singer I might add!). The message we got back was 'Don't change a thing!'

It is hoped that future tea dances may be organised on a semi-regular basis.
