Alison Doggett

Alison Doggett is a long term resident of the Chilterns and currently lives in Kings Ash near Great Missenden. She is co-author of ‘The Chilterns’, (Phillimore, 1992) with the late Prof Leslie Hepple, a landscape history of the region. She has written several other academic and mainstream publications and is a published landscape photographer.

Alison read Geography at Bristol University, and retired in 2011 from her post as Head of Geography Department and teacher of Geography at Berkhamsted School where she worked for over 25 years. During that time she was also Branch Chair and Secretary of the Berkhamsted branch of the Geographical Association for fifteen years, responsible for arranging lectures and events.

Alison is an experienced speaker at conferences and local societies. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and member of the Society of Authors. She is married to Philip and has two grown-up children. As well as her passion for the Chilterns and their cultural heritage, Alison enjoys cooking and entertaining.
