  • Theme: Autumnal Woodland Walk
  • Date: Sunday, 27 October 2024.
  • Time: 10am.
  • Place: Burnham Beeches.

This autumnal walk is approximately 9km and set in the gorgeous woodland of Burnham Beeches. It will be led by Dadima’s walkers Pali, Narinder and Tito, who know this area very well. The route is planned so that we mostly walk on designated pathways, with a couple of moderate inclines which can be slippery at this time of year with the fallen leaves. This walk is suitable for families if children are able to walk this distance at a moderate pace, and we always ensure that no one is left behind. The autumnal colours are stunning at this time of year and great for nature photographs too. If time, we could create a nature rangoli pattern with leaves and twigs, to reflect this time of year through light and hope, and the festival of Diwali coming up soon.

Meeting point: Outside the Burnham Beeches eco-café, SL2 3TE.

Parking: Park either in the paid car park at the main entrance (close to where we will start the walk), or there is limited free parking in some of the surrounding residential roads. We will meet at the eco-café to start the walk, and this in the main car park area. We will start at 10am prompt. There is no post code for the main Burnham Beeches car park, but SL2 3PS will get you within 50 metres.

Time & date: Sunday, 27 October. Arrive at 9.45am for a 10am start.

Food/clothing/toilets: Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions on the day, with shoes that protect your ankles and prevent slippage. Bring a light backpack with any drink/snack essentials that you may need for a couple of hours. As walk leaders, we always bring a first-aid kit and some basic snacks to share. We have a few qualified first-aiders on the walk. There are cafes/pubs and small supermarkets nearby if you wish to eat around the area after the walk. There are toilets near the eco café.
