Spend a morning at Colstrope Farm with wildflower restoration expert Charles Flower, author of Where have all the flowers gone?

Study a restored meadow and learn how to identify a range of key wildflowers and seeds. We will also look at how the choice in commercially available seeds affects seed mix construction and how hand collecting plays an important part in saving rarer species. The principles of meadow creation and management will also be covered on the course.

The team at Colstrope Farm have pioneered the conversion of calcareous arable farmland in the Chilterns National Landscape into diverse wildflower meadows with the appropriate management techniques. A wide range of insects and butterflies have colonised the area.

Date: Saturday, 20 July.

Time: 9.30am to 1pm.

Tickets: £50 per person, to include refreshments and course materials.
