Join woodland expert John Morris for a walk around Bottom Wood near Stokenchurch, looking at recent woodland management, tree planting and the impact of ash dieback, plus a chalk grassland glade. A fascinating insight into Chilterns woodlands past and present. Historic features include sawpits, strip lynchets, a hollow way and site of an old well.
The walk starts & finishes at the top of Old Dashwood Hill. We walk downhill through beech woodland to get to Bottom Wood, then have a 2 mile circular tour around the wood before returning to our start (3 miles total with a steep climb).
We will be looking at recent woodland management, tree planting and the impact of ash dieback, plus a chalk grassland glade. Historic features include sawpits, strip lynchets, a hollow way and site of an old well.

Bring bottle of water if needed.
Not suitable for wheelchairs, buggies due to muddy bridleway, steep hills with flints.
Not suitable for young children.
