This is a day long, linear walk of 11 miles which will illustrate the great potential that The Chiltern Hills have to offer serious walkers or casual ramblers. We start by taking the Chiltern Line from Princes Risborough to High Wycombe to then start the relaxed day’s walk back to Princes Risborough. Heading north we’ll climb out of the Wycombe’s Wye valley, before dropping down to Cryer’s Hill.
From there we’ll head towards the, possibly, celtic Speen, keeping our height before dropping down the steep chalk escarpment to Princes Risborough, finishing back where we started at Princes Risborough Station.
Additional information
Participants need to bring a packed lunch and enough fluids for the day. Clothing and footware need to be suitable for a day’s walk in unpredictable English weather.
There are public toilets at the start both in High Wycombe and Princes Risborough stations, but only opportunities offered by secluded bushes thereafter.
Accessibility info: This is a day’s walk through a working countryside. It involves some steep slopes and stiles and the possibility of muddy and wet tracks. Participants need to be fit enough and prepared for English weather variations.
