A meandering walk between Berkhamsted & Tring station – leave the car at home if you can. Public transport may not always be as quick or convenient but factoring more time in to our journey can allow us to slow down & maybe notice more in the moment.

A days walk between stations with plenty of time to immerse ourselves in the rich history & beautiful countryside of this area, including Berkhamsted Castle, the Grand Union canal, WW1 practice trenches, Capability Brown’s landscaped Golden Valley, Ashridge House, Bridgewater Monument & the quaint village of Aldbury.

Additional information

Suggest bring a packed lunch/snacks/water. There will be a cafe stop towards the end of the walk, & there is opportunity for a short cafe/toilet stop about halfway. There are toilets at the stations too.

Hil Warrell. I am no history expert & struggle to retain dates, but I love being outdoors in Nature, enjoying what each season has to offer, sharing my knowledge of local walking routes & points of interest with others, so that they in turn can share them with others. I am a Nordic walking instructor, walk leader & a yoga teacher. You can find out more about my offerings here https://mindfulmovementguide.co.uk/
