Join us for a short eventide walk from Maidensgrove. Our 5 mile route takes us down into Bix Bottom to join the ancient track leading up to Cookley Green. We then turn towards Russell’s Water pond and return over Maidensgrove Common to our start point.
We walk at a moderate pace but pause for discoveries along the way, such as flora, fauna and local history. As the golden sun sets, we take time to tune into the sights and sounds of the evening – look (and listen) out for owls, deer, and more! If the weather is kind, we will get to marvel at the sunset and finish our walk as the Full Flower Moon rises.
Additional information
Please dress appropriately for a walk in the countryside and having regard to the British weather! Paths are rough and uneven in part and may be muddy. A small rucksack is useful for personal items such as water, snacks, spare clothing, personal first aid, etc.
We plan to finish our walk just after sunset – wrap up warm and REMEMBER TO BRING A GOOD TORCH (a head torch is ideal)!
Accessibility info: Mostly good paths and tracks but may be narrow, rutted or muddy in places. One steep descent and one long ascent – total ascent/descent 450 ft. No stiles.
Children 12 years + welcome but must be capable of walking the distance and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who shall be responsible for them at all times during the walk.
