Autumn in the Chilterns can be truly spectacular and a walk at this time of year is irresistible! Our 8-mile walk from Stoke Row takes us through the famous Chilterns beech woods as they turn rich hues of orange, red and yellow.

We pass through Checkendon and on to Garson’s Farm for a refreshment stop at Blue Tin Produce, a little hidden gem, then return via Scot’s Farm. Along the way we hope to discover mediaeval fresco paintings, sculpture by the renowned war artist Eric Kennington, stunning glass windows by Laurence Whistler and John Hayward, and a haunting sculpture by John Buckley. There
were also our usual nature notes and other discoveries along the way.
