Tales of the Chalk

Tales of the Chalk  will be the arts project which brings stories of the land to life.

Chilterns ANOB

The project will see collaborations between a range of community, arts and heritage organisations to engage local people across the generations in a programme of arts-based activities, inspired by the North Chilterns landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage – past, present and future.

Through our Community Artist testing at Development Stage, the Culture Trust Luton will work with a wide range of community groups to lead and shape this project, develop opportunities for sharing exhibitions and events.

At delivery, Tales of the Chalk  will:

  • Appoint community artists to develop and implement a programme of creative activities, working with local people to explore the natural and cultural heritage of the Chalkscapes project area
  • Collect and create stories, poetry, songs, images. Activities might include: recording audible histories and conversations, poems. songs, story-telling walks, and audio trails, supported by performance, painting, print, photography and 3D art installations
  • Design and deliver multi-generational and multi-cultural projects in shared creative activity.
