Chilterns Landscapes Art exhibition – 24th April to 1st May 2022

Chalk, Cherries and Chairs is delighted to be hosting ‘Chilterns Landscapes’, an exhibition of art inspired by the outstanding natural beauty of the Central Chilterns at Wycombe Museum between 24th April and 1st May 2022. The exhibition will feature fine art pieces, local contemporary art submissions, as well as the winners from our local schools competition. Plus, workshops and a children’s day.

The exhibition will feature fine art pieces, local contemporary art submissions, as well as the winners from our local schools competition – all showcasing our wonderful Chilterns landscapes.

Chalk, Cherries and Chairs is an ambitious five-year scheme which aims to connect local people to the wildlife and cultural heritage of the Central Chilterns, overseen  by the Chilterns Conservation Board.

Alongside the beauty of the fine art pieces, you will be able to read how the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs project is addressing the real and immediate challenges facing the Central Chilterns, including HS2, ancient woodland being sold off, wildlife habitats fragmenting through development, traditional orchards and hedgerows disappearing, and an increasing disconnect between people and their local landscape.

You’ll also have the chance to take part in workshops and a children’s day during the exhibition week, and register for events and volunteering activities connected to the works of art, taking place later on in the summer. You will come away feeling connected to the wildlife and cultural heritage of the Central Chilterns, having learnt something new, and inspired to get involved in protecting and enhancing our incredible Chilterns Landscape.
