Join us for an exhilarating evening adventure on the dark side of the Chilterns around Nettlebed and Bix Bottom. Soon after setting out, and weather permitting, we get to experience the sunset and the moonrise and will then be guided by the light of the silvery moon and marvel at the night sky.

Along the way we take time to tune into the sights and sounds of the night and may get to see and hear owls, deer, and more. Our undulating 5 mile route leads from Nettlebed into Bix Bottom where the small ruined church of St James looks stunning in the moonlight.

Additional information

Much of our walk takes place after sunset – a good torch is essential (not a mobile ‘phone)!
Please dress appropriately for a walk in the countryside, and having regard to the British weather! Paths may be rough and muddy in part. A small rucksack is useful for personal items such as water, snacks, spare clothing etc. We advise walkers to carry personal first aid.

Well defined paths and tracks but will be rough and uneven in part. May also be muddy. No stiles. Approx. 460 ft ascent / descent.
