A 3.5 km, 3-hour walk on woodland paths for the Council for British Archaeology’s nationwide annual Festival of Archaeology.

The walk will explore 2000 years of occupation within the area of Hodgemoor Woods and Seer Green, including a Romano-British settlement, the best preserved section of Roman Road in the Chilterns, medieval Ridge and Furrow ploughing, the site of the 17th century Pest House, evidence of the extraction of raw materials for brick-making, early 20th century ornamental water gardens, and the remains of World War II occupation and post-war resettlement.

Booking is essential as the number of attendees is restricted. However, the walks are open to the public and can be booked either from the Festival of Archaeology website or directly through the Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society.

There are two walks to choose from – one leaving at 10am and one leaving at 2pm.
