The Moor has a lot of activity at the weekends with visitors strolling across the common and children playing games.
Box Moor Cricket Club is located on the moor and is a long established “village club” which in 2007 celebrated its 150th anniversary.
The Moor is the venue for the annual Conker Festival which was inaugurated in 1996.
In a new initiative for the Box Moor Trust, October 2012 saw the launch of the Wood, Wool & Food Festival – a celebration of local produce.
The Church of St. John the Evangelist is adjacent to the Moor in Station Road and was dedicated in its present form on Easter Tuesday, 1874.
Wildlife
The avenue of Chestnut trees was planted to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
