Carpenters Wood

Carpenters Wood is a 22.8 hectare mixed woodland which is designated as ancient having been documented as existing as a woodland for more than 400 years. The woodland is owned and managed by Three Rivers District Council, and is a designated Local Wildlife Site.

The woodland is mainly beech with oak, ash, birch and hornbeam and it is one of the few sites to have the Coralroot Bittercress plant. In the spring the woodland is carpetted with a mass of bluebells!
