Rickmansworth Aquadrome is a local nature reserve featuring two lakes— Batchworth and Bury—surrounded by woodland and grassland with accessible paths. It’s a haven for wildlife, including rare wet woodlands and water birds like mallards and great crested grebes. The site offers play areas, a café, and water-based clubs, and connects to the Colne Valley Park and Grand Union Canal at Batchworth Lock.
The Aquadrome is a very accessible location, with lots to see and do. From a relaxing walk surrounded by nature to an action-packed day on the water, it’s perfect for first timers, families, those who love nature or activities such as boating or fishing, with an accessible fishing jetty. Rickmansworth Aquadrome offers something for everyone. This is a great place to fall in love with the nature of the Chilterns.

Rickmansworth Aquadrome is a very accessible location. Both lakes have easy access paths.
Terrain:

- Inclines: Almost none, except a slight incline at the entrance to Batchworth Lake
- Benches: Seating throughout site, accessible picnic seating.
- Path surfaces: 1.2m width mostly smooth; tarmac. Some parts of Bury Lake path can flood after heavy rain.
