We will meet at College Lake Visitor Centre (there is a free car park).  Note: the centre opens at 10am, and we intend to start by 10.30am at the latest after the initial briefing introduction. Please try to be prompt and plan your journey in advance. The end time always depends on the group size, pace and pause points for discussion, depending on interest levels.

Place: College Lake, Upper Icknield Way, Tring, HP23 5QG.

College Lake Nature Reserve, in Buckinghamshire, is an outstanding centre for wildlife that delights and informs wildlife watchers of all ages. For more information, visit: https://www.bbowt.org.uk/explore/visitor-centres/college-lake-visitor-centre

Access and other information: Some wheelchair access, including two mobility Tramper vehicles which are available to use – if needed, please contact the centre on 01442 826774 or email collegelake@bbowt.org.uk to book – do contact us beforehand so that we know also.

There is a great little café, wildlife shop and toilets on site – see website for details. We will bring some light biting snacks and you can buy warm drinks and snacks after the walk.

Walking information: Approximately 2-mile casual, circular walk around the lake, led by a volunteer. Gentle slopes, some surfaced paths, gates, benches. Do prepare with suitable clothing for current high temperature levels (hats, water, sunblock, sunglasses, hay-fever meds etc). Current weather prediction is a comfortable warm, with some light rain.

Dogs: Please note that dogs are not allowed in the reserve unless they are assistance dogs.

Suitable for: Families who can engage in a moderate circular 2-mile walk. A beautiful summer walk for families.
