Title: Autumnal woodland walk

Date: Sunday, 23 November 2025

Time: 10am start

Description: This autumnal walk will last approximately 2-2.5 hours at a casual pace and is set in the gorgeous woodland location of Burnham Beeches, Farnham Common, Slough. It is being led by a Burnham Beeches warden who knows this area and nature very well. They have planned the route so that we mostly walk on designated pathways, with a couple of moderate inclines, which maybe slippery at this time of year with the fallen leaves. This walk is suitable for families if children are able to walk around 8-9km at a moderate pace.

Parking, meeting point & weblinks: We will meet outside the Burnham Beeches eco-café (Beeches, Lord Mayors Dr, Farnham Common, Burnham SL2 3TE. The Beeches Eco Cafe – Google Maps).

Park either in the paid car park at the main entrance (very close to where we will start the walk) or there is limited free parking in some of the surrounding residential roads if you have time to find a space beforehand. We will meet walkers at the eco-café to start a brief introduction at 10am. Geeta, Subash and the Warden will be there from 9.45am to greet you.

There is no post code for the main Burnham Beeches car park, but SL2 3PS will get you within 50 metres, and you have the eco café weblink details above. Useful parking link: https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/things-to-do/green-spaces/burnham-beeches-and-stoke-common/car-parking-at-burnham-beeches

Walk led by: Izzy Bassick (she/her), Assistant Ranger, Burnham Beeches and Stoke Common.

Parking cost: £3 for the day or £1.50 for two hours.

We have qualified first aiders on the walk. There is a Burnham Beeches café where we will start the walk, and pubs/small supermarkets nearby if you wish to eat around the area after the walk. There are good toilet facilities near the eco café.
