Dadima’s October Walk Guided walk

Title: Chilterns Beacon Hill Walk.

Time: 10am start.

Walk details: Our October walk will take us on a circular route around Beacon Hill, offering great views of the M40 motorway/Chiltern hills cut through. The walk is approx. 3.5miles and we will also walk along the famous Ridgeway – it includes an elevation of 470 feet and an accent of 460 feet. It will take about 2.5-3hours (depending on our pace) with stops/talking points for reflection, and you will see where the red kites were first introduced into the Chiltern Hills – see link below for more info:

This is a moderately-paced walk which will involve some steep inclines. Depending on the weather and ground conditions on the day, please come prepared with suitable walking shoes/boots and waterproofs as needed. We do have spare waterproof trousers across sizes, so let us know in advance if you want any please depending on the weather. If for any reason the weather is unsafe, we will send a message in advance on the Dadima’s whatsapp group, Facebook page, and Instagram stories.

The walk will not be suitable for very young children (unless they are good walkers used to this distance) or those with medical conditions for inclines.

Meeting point description: M40, Junction 6 layby, signposted Watlington/Princes Risborough in Oxfordshire. OX495TJ (near the Lewknor bus-stop and layby parking area).

If travelling Northbound: Get off the M40 at Junction 6, signposted Watlington/Princes Risborough. As soon as you exit the slip road, you’ll come to a T-junction. Turn immediate left (following the Watlington sign) and park in the free lay-by area where you’ll see several cars near a bus-stop. As walk leaders, we are usually standing there around 10 minutes before the start time.

If travelling Southbound: Get off the M40 at Junction 6, signposted Watlington/Princes Risborough. As soon as you exit the slip road, you’ll come to a T-junction. Turn right (towards Watlington). Drive approximately 300m (you’ll drive under the motorway bridge) and you’ll see the lay-by for parking ahead of you.
