Theme: Celebrating Chilterns Chalk Streams on World Rivers Day.
Date and time: Sunday, 28 September, 2025. 10am arrival/meet-up at the gazebo for an 11am guided walk.

Terrain: Flat, can be wet – walking boots or wellies recommended! Gentle walk, under 1km.
Parking is free or there is a 16 minute bus which goes from High Wycombe Station.

Join us for a relaxed and fascinating guided walk through the scenic Desborough Recreation Grounds, where nature meets heritage. As we stroll along a mostly flat and gentle circular route (no hiking gear required – just a good pair of boots or wellies!), we’ll uncover stories buried beneath our feet. Along the way, we’ll dip into themes of local heritage, from mills and paperworks, to Iron age hill forts, to the evolution of a landscape shaped by water, and people.
