The Chilterns National Landscape welcomes new members and Chair to its Board

The Chilterns National Landscape is entering a new chapter, with several new Board members and a new Chair. We thank our outgoing members; David Bartholomew, Patricia Birchley, Colin Courtney, Paula Hiscox, Geeta Ludhra, Paul Mainds, Richard Newcombe, John Shaw, Joe Stewart and Sally Symington for the time, energy and expertise that they have given to the Chilterns National Landscape. Their contributions have been hugely valuable.

Special thanks go to our Chair, John Nicholls. Over the past nine years – and the past two years as Chair – John has brought great wisdom and insight to the organisation and will be very much missed by the staff team and Board members alike.

We are therefore delighted to welcome our new Board members, who bring a wide range of experiences and fresh perspectives from across local government, business management, the environment and community leadership:

We’re also delighted to announce our new Chair, Councillor Louise Price. Louise is appointed by Three Rivers District Council, where she is Ward Member for Chorleywood South and Maple Cross, and is also a Hertfordshire County Councillor for Three Rivers Rural and a Chorleywood Parish Councillor.

Louise said: “It is an honour to be appointed Chair of the Chilterns National Landscape Board. The Chilterns is one of England’s most cherished landscapes, and I look forward to working with colleagues and partners to ensure it continues to thrive for people, wildlife and future generations.”

Our Chief Executive, Dr Elaine King, added: “Our Board members provide valuable leadership and strategic direction, and we are enormously grateful to them all for their dedication and service. I’m especially grateful to our outgoing Chair, John Nicholls, for his calm yet tenacious approach, and constant good humour. While we will miss those that have stepped down, we are excited to extend a warm welcome to our new appointees, who bring fresh ideas, expertise and passion for the Chilterns. With our new Chair, Louise, at the helm, the Board is well placed for the future.”
