The Council for British Archaeology Festival takes place across the UK from Saturday 18th July to Sunday 2nd August.

Included in the Festival of Archaeology programme is the rare opportunity to Explore its ancient history and its exciting future in the North Chilterns Landscape Partnership’s plans for landscape-scale nature recovery.

Hillfort expert Dr Wendy Morrison from the Chilterns Heritage & Archaeology Partnership (CHAP) will be on hand to talk about plans for future archaeological investigations.

This is a landscape rich in legend, from sleeping giants to healing wells, fairies and flowers that bloom where Viking blood was spilled. We’ll share some of these stories, which can help us connect with nature and the people who’ve called this ancient landscape home.

The walk is 1.5 miles, but requires ascent of a moderate hill slope, and walking on grass without surfaced paths. The starting point of the walk will be sent to participants who have booked a place.
