Priestfield Arboretum in Little Kingshill, Buckinghamshire is a privately owned, 5.2-acre collection of more than 200 unusual trees from around the world. Normally closed to the public, it opens for its Autumn Open Weekend on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, 10.30am–4pm, with free guided tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Visitors can enjoy the autumn colour, fruits, nuts and seeds while discovering more about this fascinating collection. Autumn colour depends on the growing season and weather, so no promises, but there will be plenty to see and much to learn from this remarkable compact collection.

After the weather we saw this summer, the guides will also explore how different trees respond to changing growing conditions, and what that might mean for the trees and plants we choose for our own gardens.

Additional information

The site is on a slight slope, with no made paths, so sturdy footwear is advised. Unfortunately, the site is not suitable for wheelchairs and there are no toilet or refreshment facilities.

There is no parking on site, so please use Windsor Lane (rather than Stony Lane) if you can and walk the short distance to the arboretum.
