Step back into the brutal and spectacular world of Ancient Rome as Roman Gladiators return to Chiltern Open Air Museum for an action-packed family weekend event.

Experience thrilling live gladiatorial combat displays as expert trained re-enactors bring the arena to life. See authentic weapons and armour up close, learn about different gladiator fighting styles, and discover the truth behind the myths. Find out who gladiators really were, how they trained, and why these deadly contests captivated audiences across the Roman Empire. But remember, your cheers or jeers could help decide their fate.

Between battles, meet the gladiators up close, explore Roman military life, and enjoy hands-on activities for all ages. With plenty to see and do across the museum’s historic landscape, this is a full day out for families, history lovers and anyone curious about life in Roman Britain.
