Chipperfield Common
This common was once heath land but since grazing stopped here in the 1930’s it has become mostly secondary woodland. It contains two early bronze age burial mounds, five ponds and eight sweet chesnut trees that date from around the 1600’s.
A network of footpaths and bridleways run through the common (including an easy access route) and there is car parking available nearby. The allotments in Chipperfield are also registered common land.
