Chilterns Tourism Network
We love our naturally outstanding Chiltern Hills; they are the breathing, living green space between Oxford and London.
We are privileged to live and work in this beautiful English landscape that offers miles of rolling countryside dotted with pretty flinted villages, viewpoints through the ancient beechwoods, chalk downland and Thames-side meadows ablaze with wildflowers – all accessible from historic market towns and along the many footpaths, bridleways and long distance trails.
Our landscape has influenced so many lives and livelihoods over the centuries: crops grown, raw materials harvested for a burgeoning capital city, art and literature influenced and created, countryside traditions celebrated, respite for so many and a growing tradition of countryside experiences and hospitality.
Who we are
Our Chilterns Tourism Network (CTN) businesses are connected to this evolving landscape, sharing the stories of the people who have shaped this place, whilst working together to build a vibrant, sustainable and welcoming visitor economy – during winter, spring, summer and autumn.
Our inclusive group of collaborative local tourism and hospitality businesses represents a range of products, experiences and services including; visitor attractions, museums, theatres, festivals, pubs, restaurants, specialist food providers, festivals, accommodation, countryside experience providers, sightseeing and tourist guides.
The network is free to join for those businesses who are active in the local visitor economy – or perhaps are looking to set up new visitor experiences, working collaboratively to share a sustainable and accessible visitor offer. Please contact us if you like to work with us to promote our naturally outstanding Chiltern Hills, or to be added to our network mailing list.
What we do
We are independent and focused on our visitors’ needs. We try and keep on top of technology, trends and developing creative ways to be noticed in a busy tourism marketplace.
Sector development is how we stay relevant; food, events, the creative industries and countryside experiences are our focus. You will benefit from being involved in our work.
We are active on Facebook and you’ll find us on the VisitChilterns page where, if your business qualifies you can join the 175-member B2b group.
We also co-host networking meetings across the region with our partners, the Chilterns Conservation Board and local Destination Management Organisation, Visit Buckinghamshire. These popular networking events are when we use the time to learn from industry experts, promote our businesses, explore ways to collaborate, take advantage of training and development opportunities and get to know one another. We usually meet in interesting venues and locations that our network kindly offers to share with us, including tasty local nibbles!
