Luton rocks! A joyful celebration at Luton Henge Festival
On Saturday, 26 July, the Luton Henge Festival marked the official opening of the new chalk stone circle with a day full of creativity and celebration.
The day began with inspiring words from Chilterns National Landscape, Revoluton Arts, and artist Matthew Rosier, followed by a playful ‘washing of the stones’ where children washed the eight chalk stones using toy water guns!
Festivalgoers enjoyed a vibrant mix of arts and crafts, from clay Luton Henge making and willow weaving to hat making and t-shirt printing. The site was alive with performances, including Bird Rave, capoeira, drumming, choir singing and plenty of dancing.
As the sun set, the festivities ended with a powerful poetry performance from Lee Nelson, joined by local voices Britney Virginia and John Hegley, leaving everyone inspired and uplifted.
Luton Henge is open, and Luton rocks!
