LUC are delighted to have been commissioned by Natural England to review the boundary of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), as part of Natural England’s Landscape Designation Programme. This project will assess natural beauty and the desirability of extension of the AONB around the whole boundary.
We are committed to working with our stakeholders to “explore the case for and against the Chilterns having enhanced status or being designated a National Park” and to “review the boundary of the protected area to cover the wider area of the Chilterns landscape that merits it.”
The Chilterns Conservation Board is working to hold HS2 to account and to minimise the effects of its construction works on the Chilterns landscape.
Sable House in Buckinghamshire has been named as the Chilterns Building Design Award winners for 2021.
A Westminster Hall debate will be held on Monday 13 September where MPs will discuss whether to halt all HS2 works and repeal HS2 legislation.
